What is Try Dives?
Try Dives is the first contact with the world of scuba diving, with no need of previous experience or technical knowledge. It is an activity designed for you to enjoy, without pressure, with all the necessary equipment and always accompanied by an instructor.
It is like opening a window to another planet: the seabed, the feeling of weightlessness, the fish swimming nearby…. You experience all that from the first minute, and in total safety.
What does Try Dives in Santa Pola consist of?
At Dive Academy we make it easy and fun. Try Dives start with a brief theoretical explanation where we tell you just what you need to know: how to breathe, how to move and how to communicate underwater.
How long does Try Dives last?
The complete Try Dives usually last between 2 and 2.5 hours, counting the previous talk, the preparation, the entry into the water and the dive.
The underwater part usually lasts between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on each person and how they feel. We always adapt it to you.

Requirements for Try Dives in Santa Pola
You don’t need experience or fitness to run a marathon. Just:
Be at least 10 years old
Know how to swim and be comfortable in the water
No major respiratory or cardiac problems
Bring a lot of enthusiasm and no rush
After the Try Dives you will be a certified diver.
At the end of your Try Dives in Santa Pola, we will give you an official PADI Discover Scuba Diving certificate, which is not a complete qualification but recognizes that you have made your first dive successfully.
In addition, if you decide to continue diving and take the Open Water course, this experience will count as valid credit, which means that you will have already completed a part of the course.
Other questions
What should I wear?
You only need to bring a swimsuit or bikini, towel and flip flops. We will take care of the rest. We will provide you with a wetsuit and all the necessary equipment for the water.
What happens if the sea is bad for diving?
Safety comes first. If the sea is not in optimal conditions (waves, very low visibility…), we will reschedule without any problem or your money back. We can also change the Try Dives to other areas we have available: Alicante, Cartagena or Torrevieja.
Can it be done at any time?
Try Dives are available all year round, although the best months are from May to October. However, if conditions permit, we can organize it at any time. The ideal is to book in advance, especially in summer.
