Diving in Alicante: Guided dives in a PADI certified dive center.

80€

Discover the seabed of the Costa Blanca with Dive Academy, your dive center in Alicante. We organize guided dives in Cala Palmera and Isla Tabarca Marine Reserve, for all levels: from the first Try Dives to full PADI certifications.

Why is Alicante one of the best diving destinations in the Mediterranean?

The province of Alicante concentrates most of the diving centers in the Valencian Community, and it is no coincidence. Its waters have an average visibility of between 10 and 20 meters, temperatures ranging from 14 ° C in winter and 28 ° C in summer, and a marine biodiversity that few Mediterranean coasts can match.

Diving in Alicante is an experience accessible all year round: the mild climate of the Costa Blanca allows you to organize dives in any month, which is not the case in many other parts of the Spanish coast. From the rocky seabed of Cabo de la Huerta to the Posidonia oceanica meadows of the Tabarca Island Marine Reserve, every dive has surprises in store.

At Dive Academy, our dive center in Alicante operates from Santa Pola, the point on the coast with the best access to the most valued spots in the area: Cala Palmera in the municipality of Alicante itself, and the Isla Tabarca Marine Reserve, declared the first marine reserve in Spain in 1986.

Meet Cala Palmera, the cove of divers in Alicante

Looking for a truly worthwhile diving experience in Alicante? Well, let us tell you straight: at Dive Academy we have been underwater for years and we can tell you that this coast hides some real underwater gems.
Cala Palmera is one of those places that do not appear in all the brochures, but that surprise any diver who gets into the water… If you are considering where to dive, Alicante is a safe bet. And not only for the visibility or the water temperature (which also), but for the variety of dives it offers.

Where is it?

Cala Palmera is very popular among those who choose to dive in Alicante because the access is very easy and it is suitable for all levels of divers, from Try Dives, to courses and certified divers.

Type of marine fauna

While diving in Alicante it is common to find salps, obladas, bream, octopus, starfish and even some conger eel hidden among the rocks.

Maximum Depth

The maximum depth of this dive is 9 meters and hides several surprises that only Cala de la Palmera has and we will be happy to show them to you.

Type of immersion

This is a shore dive, so we enter the water from the shore gradually, which is very comfortable and gives you more control when starting the dive.

The orography of this dive site makes it an ideal environment for many types of species, as there are rocky areas, sandy bottom and large meadows of Posidonia oceanica.
