Nowadays, empty jobs abound. Those that are done because you have to “earn a living”. Without any kind of satisfaction. Without any kind of incentive. The labor market is not in its best moments. Economic crises and pandemics often force us to give thanks for the simple fact of receiving a salary at the end of the month. It doesn’t matter if it fills you up, if it gives you something or if you get up every day and head for another working day.
This is when I started to realize that it’s not just about making a living, it’s not all about doing your job and going home. You can also do it while enjoying yourself. The only thing you have to do is to dedicate yourself to something you really like.
So, in my case, I chose this medium to earn a living while enjoying one of my favorite activities. Diving.
For those who do not know it or have never tried it, I advise you to make a diving baptism. Don’t waste any more time and experience as soon as possible the only way to almost be in weightlessness. Immerse yourself in a new underwater world. Feel the freedom, the contact with nature, glimpse creatures that you have only seen in documentaries. All this without forgetting that it is a sport and a great way to meet people and socialize.
What am I doing stuck in a factory/office 9 hours a day when I could be underwater? That’s what I thought just before I decided to change my life completely. I chose to make my hobby my profession and become a diving instructor.
It wasn’t easy at first. But in this life what is truly satisfying is not what you achieve without effort. On the contrary, you get greater satisfaction from achieving something that you really had to work hard to do.
You will do a so-called “intership”. You will work in exchange for training. The day to day will be diving while assisting other dive instructors. This will help you learn a lot from them, perfecting your underwater skills. You will improve a lot in the way you interact, helping clients and losing embarrassment in talking to them, as well as learning English. We are an international dive center, where most of our clients are foreigners. At all times you will be involved in the day to day running of the dive center, learning how it works internally. You will meet a lot of people from all over the world. You will make friendships that will last for years, who knows, maybe a lifetime.
Little by little you will be doing diving courses. Obviously you will have to study something. There is a lot of important and necessary knowledge to learn. Nothing impossible to achieve if you put your mind to it.
From the course known as Dive Master, you will be part of the professional family of recreational diving. You will be able to guide already certified divers, assist dive instructors in training courses or in that first experience called “baptism”. The journey doesn’t end here. In fact, it has just begun.
